Apex Construct is one of the several dedicated VR titles that will be optimised especially for Oculus Quest, the very first all-in-one VR set that's coming out sometime this Spring. We've not got any details about other titles, but Apex Construct we do know something about.
This single-player adventure FPS is going to be a fully-fledged, narratively-driven VR experience, with the developers, Fast Travel Games, priding themselves on establishing a particularly interactive game world for players to have fun in.
If the apparent quality of Apex Construct is anything to go by, the remaining unannounced Oculus Quest projects by Fast Travel Games are going to be quite impressive indeed, and the Marketing & Comms Manager Andreas Juliusson said that more information about these games will be released in the coming months.
"We are really excited to be working on multiple projects for the Oculus Quest. While this does not mean we are focusing less on other existing VR platforms, a headset like the Oculus Quest with no need for external cameras, cables or power from a computer or console will only help the industry take another important step towards mass adoption of 6DOF VR," he said.
Apex Construct is already available on Steam for HTC Vive, Oculus, and Windows Mixed Reality platforms, but the developers promise that the game will realise its full potential only once Oculus Quest is out.
