Crytek has announced that the latest DLC pack for PvPvE shooter Hunt: Showdown will be released tomorrow.
The Fear the Reaper pack features a brand new Hunter, weapons, and tools, all of which are of Legendary status. This includes the following:
- The Reaper (Hunter)
- Quietus (Weapon - Specter 1882 Compact)
- Memento Mori (Weapon - Winfield M1876 Centennial)
- The Scythe (Tool - Throwing Axe)

There’s some background on The Reaper provided, and why he’s involved with the hunt.
A man named Claeg Grey dons the spectral mask and robes of The Reaper in order to shield his family from the shame of every murderous thing he’s done thanks to the demon that resides within him. He only truly feels himself after allowing the demon the satisfaction of sacrifice.
The weapons have their own grim backstories, but it is the Scythe that sounds grimmest of all, as it’s the very weapon poor Claeg, in thrall to the demon, used to murder his best friend.
Hunt: Showdown is already a pretty fitting game for Halloween, but this new hunter is especially haunting for the season.
