As an influx of new players experience what Final Fantasy 14’s Eorzea has to offer, publisher and developer Square Enix has shared the first details surrounding the FFXIV Moonfire Faire 2021 event, including its start and end dates but also the new rewards that players can obtain.
Dubbed “Costa del Sol Screams for Ice Cream,” FFXIV’s Moonfire Faire 2021 event brings with it frosty rewards, including a Polar Bear mount that should make dealing with torrid summers a little easier.
Once its start date comes by, you’ll find Mayaru Moyaru waiting in Limsa Lominsa, near The Aftcastle, at coordinates X:11.5, Y:13.8. You can take the city’s Aethernet network to get there, after which you’ll just have to walk a few steps towards the south.
Speaking with Mayaru Moyaru lets you pick up the Unseasonable Chills quest, provided your character is level 30, regardless if you’re a subscriber or a free trial player. This year, you’ll need to head to Costa del Sol and speak with Haermaga, on the island just northwest of the Aetheryte.
Haermaga wants to make “the most delightfully frosty desert” and you’ll first need to help track down a supply of ice. Speak to P’obyano, just a few steps to the northeast, then help Nekeke, a couple of steps to the east. After hearing Nekeke’s tale, you’ll ned to speak to Haermaga once more.
You’ll then have to complete the FATE A Blizzard of Bombards, on the same island. You may have to wait a bit for it to pop up and, despite the size of the enemy you have to defeat, it’s not all that hard. If you’re playing through this FFXIV’s Moonfire Faire 2021 event quest on a higher level character, you’ll need to level sync in order to complete it.
After you’ve turned it in, pick up A Treat to Beat the Heart from Nekeke nearby. Speak to the three targets, two of which are on the island. Master Gegeruju waits in Costa del Sol. Return to Nekeke and you’ll receive the Polar Bear horn, which lets you summon your Polar Bear mount. It comes with a special action that lets you briefly summon a shower of ice which looks pretty cool even if it doesn’t have any effect in combat.
Since Final Fantasy 14’s Moonfire Faire 2021 event only runs for a limited time, let’s see what it’s start and end dates are:
- FF14 Moonfire Faire event 2021 start date - August 13 at 1 AM PDT/9 AM BST
- FF14 Moonfire Faire event 2021 end date - August 26 at 7:59 AM PDT/3:59 PM BST
Alongside the new Polar Bear mount, you’ll also be able to get the Moonfire Mask Stall Outdoor Furnishing Item alongside the Costa del Hielo and Grilled Corn Tabletops for five Faire Vouchers each. The Moonfire Faire vendor that becomes available after you receive the mount sells them and various other items from previous years. You’ll also find more FATEs spawning in the southeastern part of the faire grounds.
FFXIV’s Moonfire Faire 2021 event counts amount the last ones that go live before its next expansion, Endwalker, launches later this year, on November 23.
