One of the reasons that Final Fantasy XIV has maintained a healthy player base over the years is the fact that Square Enix don't exactly shy away from producing interesting, universe-bending events. Their collaboration with Capcom's Monster Hunter: World is only the latest in a long line, really.
It is with the release of Patch 4.36 that the Monster Hunter: World/Final Fantasy XIV collaboration will be made available, and it will include special quests, boss encounters, equipment and more. Down below, you'll find a succinct summary of the juiciest portions!
Front and center is the iconic flying wyvern - the Rathalos- who will serve as the ultimate boss encounter of this content update, both in 'Normal' and 'Extreme' difficulty levels. To challenge Rathalos, however, you will need a level 70 character, mind.
The main battle is a sort of a raid boss encounter, and by defeating Rathalos, players will have a chance to get the Rathalos Armor Set, Poogie and Palico minions, a Rathalos mount, and some snazzy new furnishings for your home. It goes without saying that the battle will be considerably difficult, however.
As for the rest of the patchnotes, players can expect lots of new sidequests, new cosmetics and non-Monster Hunter furnishings, new emotes, changes to how certain items are found and lots more. Eureka Pagos, the new instanced area, seems particularly interesting.
