Disintegration has been shrouded with a veil of secrecy ever since it was teased a while back, and there was very little information available, short of the fact that it’s being made by some of the developers who previously worked on Halo and SOCOM titles.
Initially we thought that we’d be getting a standard first-person shooter in most aspects, but it seems that Disintegration places much more of an emphasis on its real-time strategy features.
Namely, Disintegration will put players in the shoes of Romer Shoal - a veteran Gravcycle pilot who will have to command a group of fellow Outlaws in high-intensity combat operations. In fact, it seems that Romer won’t ever leave his Gravcycle in combat, and will instead coordinate strike teams in real-time.
Developers mentioned that Disintegration will let players pick and choose from a wide variety of personable characters, each of which will pack unique tools, skills, and abilities for the player to make use of. The Gravcycle itself lends Romer a view from higher-up, which lets players both direct their forces and support them with the vehicle’s powerful weaponry.
While we wait for more information to pour in, be sure to watch the trailer below.
