StickyLock Games has revealed that its free-to-play arena-FPS Histera will be launching into early access on Steam today.
Choose your weapons and master an ever-changing arena as you glitch through time and fight fiercely on the battlefield. The ground beneath your feet will shift between different Eras as the battle intensifies in this dystopian, post-apocalyptic world.
Histera releases into early access and is free-to-play
The initial Eras available in Histera include the futuristic Montorro City, the prehistoric Pliocene Plateau, and the war-torn mid-20th century Novgorod. The game will have team deathmatch and territory control modes, featuring 8v8 players.
To give players the chance to add a little flair to their Histera experience, it is possible to visually customize their characters and weapons with unique skins that can be purchased through the in-game store. All customizations are fully cosmetic and will not have any effects on the gameplay. For everyone joining the game’s Early Access, there will be an exclusive skin available for free in the first two weeks.
The Glitch is a core part of Histera and appears as a hazardous physical anomaly in-game. Following each instance of The Glitch during a match, and the transformation of the battlefield, players can also scour the altered arena for new items on the map that can offer unique abilities such as increased movement speed or unlimited ammunition.
StickyLock Games says it’s looking to launch a Battle Pass, which will be introduced after the initial launch and will offer customisation options for players’ weapons and characters.
Histera shouldn’t be in early access for longer than the initial 6 - 12 months. You can find it on Steam, should you wish to learn more about it.
