Frontier Developments has acquired canadian game development studio Complex Games, who are known for releasing Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters in May, under the Frontier Foundry third-party games label.
Frontier says that this acquisition is a continuation of its commitment to growth and expansion, “enhancing” its portfolio of video games, and gives it a “core development footprint” in Canada, which it sees as “a region with an extensive and growing talent pool for videogame development”.
”When we launched our third-party publishing strategy in 2019 we were excited by the potential to align our Frontier Foundry development partners more formally with Frontier through acquisition,” said Jonny Watts, CEO of Frontier Developments.
“Our experience with Complex Games on Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters has been terrific, and I am delighted to welcome Noah and the team to Frontier, with a view to growing and evolving our development team in Manitoba, Canada.” he added.
Complex Games will continue to provide updates for Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters while it works on “ambitious future titles” with Frontier Developments. We’ll keep you posted on anything we hear about additional content updates for Chaos Gate.
