Nacon Connect 2022 has revealed that Gangs of Sherwood is in development and will be a third-person co-op PvE action game, which is being developed by Appeal Studios, a team that Nacon acquired back in October 2020.
Inspired by the legend of Robin Hood, Gangs of Sherwood sees players taking command of either Robin, Marian, Friar Tuck or Little John, four heroes that will each have unique and fully customizable gameplay styles.
Gangs of Sherwood Release Date
Gangs of Sherwood is set for a release in 2023 for the PC, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, and a co-op mode will be featured, but we don’t know if cross-play will be available between all platforms on launch.
- Release Date set for: 2023
It’s the classic Robin Hood story, plunder from the rich and give to the poor. Nottingham’s armies will be bolstered with performance-enhanced soldiers, war machines and bosses that your band of Merry Men will have to defeat across the campaigns missions, with the world being set in a dystopian future.
Appeal Studios was founded in 1995 and are mainly known for developing the Outcast franchise, and more recently put out a version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire across multiple platforms in 2020, and The Bluecoats: North & South.
The Robin Hood franchise has enjoyed a vast catalogue of video game releases over the years, with the most recent being Focus Entertainment’s Hood: Outlaws & Legends.
