Genesis Alpha One was present at The Game Awards 2018 with a trailer announcing its release date. Radiation Blue’s title is set to launch on January 29 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, however, there’s a slight twist.
The PC version of Genesis Alpha One was initially meant to launch on Steam but, as the trailer reveals, it’s now moved to the Epic Games Store. Publisher Team17 went on Steam to further clarfiy the situation.
“You might be wondering what this announcement means for Steam users and we will be able to update you in the near future but we can confirm that Genesis Alpha One will not be launching on Steam on January 29th 2019. We understand that this will be frustrating to some of you who have supported the game since it was revealed, and we are extremely thankful for all your suggestions and feedback.”, a Team17 rep said on Steam.
The game’s Steam community hasn’t taken the news too well, many expressing reluctance when it comes to Epic’s storefront and the need to install yet another launcher on their PCs.
To those unaware, Genesis Alpha One puts players in the shoes of an interstellar pioneer journeying across the stars in order to save humanity. Ship building and management, exploration, first-person action and even some rogue-like elements are all involved. Check out its latest trailer below.
