Half-Life Alyx is the big new game from Valve, and the first title in the Half-Life series in over 12 years. It's also a VR game, which usually means a shorter experience, right? Or is that not the case? What is the Half-Life Alyx length of the game formerly known as HL VR?
How long is Half-Life Alyx? It's definitely an important question, as most VR games (aside from conversions like Skyrim or Fallout) are only a few hours long - however, from what we've heard, that might not be the case with Half-Life VR. So what is the Half-Life Alyx game length?
What is the Half-Life Alyx length of the game?
The real surprise is that Valve considers Half-Life Alyx a proper Half-Life game, despite being a prequel to Half-Life 2 - and apparently, it has the play time to match. In fact, if anything it's a little longer than Half-Life 2.
According to Game Awards host Geoff Keighley (via PCGamesN), the game is "a full-blown Half-Life experience" - which takes around 15 hours to complete. Geoff should know, as he's apparently played the game in full.
I’ve played through HL: Alyx (it took me over 15 hours) and seen it in multiple stages of development. This is a full-blown Half-Life experience, with a rich, vibrant world, immersive combat, great storytelling, and innovative game design. pic.twitter.com/FLKtXusyQc

Now, the game still has a few months left before release - it's due to come out March 2020 - so this play time may change. We'll certainly keep you apprised, but if you have a VR set and are considering picking up Half-Life Alyx - it seems likely you'll have a full, complete game experience waiting for you when it comes out.
