The Halo Master Chief Collection is coming soon to PC, and it begins with a remaster of Bungie's last game Halo Reach - for PC and Xbox. As it's coming to both platforms, as well as the Windows Store, is there Halo Reach PC cross-save support?
With Halo Reach PC coming to Steam, Xbox, Windows Store, and Xbox Game Pass, it's an important question - is there Halo MCC PC cross-saving or Halo Reach crossplay across all these platforms? Is there cross-save of any kind? Let's have a look.
Is there Halo Reach PC Cross-Save support across Steam and Xbox?
With the latest Halo Reach Flight test underway, which may be the last one before the game's out, fans are looking forward to the final release - which is on several storefronts across Xbox and PC. But do these storefronts communicate with each other, and is there cross-save support for the Halo MCC?
As detailed in the latest MCC development update, there will be partial Halo MCC cross-saving across platforms. The game will save the following across all platforms:
- Campaign Mission Completion
- Playlist Completion
- Leaderboards
- Career Stats
- Medals Chest
- Achievements
- Account Level and Rank
</ul>
However, mid-mission saves and checkpoints will not be cross-save compatible - they will be tied to the storefront you use, such as Steam. Likewise, certain unlocks such as customization will be tied to your Xbox profile and may not carry over between platforms.
Nevertheless, this is all perhaps more than reasonable - at the very least, if you complete a mission on Steam you can continue from the beginning of the next mission on Xbox if you wish - losing a checkpoint is a small price to pay for that support!
