While trial and error and lots of guide reading help, Hearts of Iron 4 console commands and cheats can grant more leeway during a playthrough that’s not quite going your way.

What if a civil war suddenly started in the middle of D-Day, or someone began nuking every province on the map without warning? The latter probably has a more precise answer than the former, but you get the gist: they’re great tools for when you’re in a tight spot or want to have fun.
HOI4 Console Commands and Cheats
Accessing Hearts of Iron 4’s console commands and cheats is relatively easy. All you need to do is press the tilde (`) key while in-game to bring up the console. From that point on, type in something from the list below.
Remember that you won’t be able to use them during Ironman or multiplayer matches. Generally, the amounts, tags, and IDs in the list below should be typed into the console without the accompanying brackets.
