Devastators are one of the stronger bot types you will face when it comes to regular grunts on the battlefield. These forces can be hard to find especially if you are trying to find them amongst large groups of Automatons.
However, if you need to go after them for a challenge or task set by Arrowhead, then you will be pleased to know you won’t have to play the toughest difficulty modes to see them walking around.
Devastators are pretty common in Helldivers 2 missions, but you will need heavy firepower to take them down. Here is where you can find them and the best ways to eradicate them from the planet you are on.
What difficulty do Devastators spawn in on in Helldivers 2?
Devastators can spawn in on any difficulty in Helldivers 2 - from Trivial to Helldive. Providing you are on a planet with Automaton forces, you always have a chance to find them.
However, they do become more common on higher-difficulty missions. Additionally, you can find them more often on survival missions, where there are tons of bots constantly dropping, compared to missions that have you exploring and completing more objectives.
Some Devastators will have rocket launchers mounted on them, others will be armed with an assault-class weapon and shield, but the easiest ones to take down will just appear with no special equipment. Bog standard Devastators are the best ones, we say.
How to kill Devastators easily in Helldivers 2?
Like the basic bot forces, Devastators in Helldivers 2 aren’t too tricky to kill. However, they have more armour, which means it will take more shots to put them down. Therefore, shotguns and energy-based weapons that can pierce through that armour plating and kill them are the best options to use.
Ideally, you want to aim for the Devstator’s limbs when shooting at them, this will do more damage than if you try to hit their main body which is more resistant to bullets and damage. If you can get behind them, you will do even more damage, as this is their weakest point.
Grenades and some Stratagems like the Machine Gun or AC-8 Autocannon do a great job at ripping through the armour that Devastators have.
