Modding community Flat2VR has revealed that a VR mod for Hogwarts Legacy is currently in development while showcasing almost ten minutes’ worth of gameplay.
The hype surrounding Hogwarts Legacy was tangible well before players could get their hands on it, thanks to the game’s promise of letting us fully immerse in the lives of a particularly special student at the school of witchcraft and wizardry. Its upcoming VR mod lets us get one step closer to the action.

The freshly revealed gameplay video, which you can watch below, mainly focuses on exploring Hogwarts and its immediate surroundings from a first-person perspective, while also including a small bit of magic use while attending charms class.
Aside from the occasionally shaky camera, everything runs quite smooth, which is a good sign for VR enthusiasts.
“You can very much play the game from start to finish this way,” Reddit user and Flat2VR member elliotttate pointed out in a comment. “Motion controls haven’t been built, but playing with a gamepad or motion controls that work like a gamepad currently work really well first or third person.”
Hogwarts Legacy’s VR mod doesn’t seem to be available for download just yet and there’s no word on when its officially launch might happen, although that hopefully won’t take too long.
While we wait, you can already spice up your wizarding experience with a handful of non-VR mods and learn how the Sorting Hat quiz works, so you can make sure that you join your preferred Hogwarts house.
