Publisher META Publishing has announced that it has partnered with developer Digitality Studios for the release of post-apocalyptic sidescroller HordeCore.
Aiming for a Q1 2021 release, HordeCore will focus on surviving a harsh zombie-infested world, while also featuring an in-built collectible card game called Horde Tactics.
Finding unique characters and adding them to your team is only one part of survival in HordeCore. Your base camp acts as a shelter for your community and must be defended. Gathering supplies requires braving the world outside and its dangers.
HordeCore Launches Next Year With Optional Horde Tactics CCG
Here is a list of key HordeCore features, as detailed in an emailed press release:
- A dangerous world to explore: HordeCore is set in a vast, randomly generated environment. Coincidentally, traffic before the apocalypse was a bit of a nightmare at rush hour!
- A tinkerer’s dream: Anything can be a weapon if you’re inventive enough! Just collect a few ingredients, visit a crafting table, and turn them into something pointy!
- A unique cast of characters: What? You thought you’d be the last human on Earth? The lone wolf trope is a pretty unrealistic one when you think of it!
- Ever-lasting friendship: okay, not really. But you can tackle the challenges in HordCore, alongside up to three other people, through both online and split screen co-op. You’ll have to source your own friends locally, though. We don’t ship those anymore!
As you spent time in HordeCore’s wasteland, you’ll unlock cards “representing an item, character or a Hordeling that you encounter in the game”m which you can use to play Horde Tactics.
The CCG features over 60 cards, relies on building synergies between them, and is completely optional. You can learn more about HordeCore by visiting Steam page.
