UPDATE August 17: Amplitude Studios shares Humankind release times.
Humankind is one of the most anticipated 4X strategy games of the year, coming from one of the subgenre’s most prolific developers and promising to change up key elements of its recipe. This has got many players looking forward to it and wondering about its release times.
After initially having to rely on Steam’s countdown timer, developer Amplitude Studios has shared official details about Humankind’s release times.
The title’s Steam page pinned release “in approximately 1 day” from this article’s original time of writing. Since games usually go live at the top of the hour, this put Humankind’s release times at or around 6 AM PT/11 AM ET/4 PM BST on August 17.
Developer Amplitude Studios has since confirmed that Humankind’s release times are set to 5 AM PT/10 AM ET/3 PM BST.
For those wondering, #HumankindGame will be available at 4 PM CEST / 3 PM BST—in about 3.5 hours from now! 👀

Amplitude Studios’ latest effort is also set to launch on the Epic Games Store, Google Stadia, and Xbox Game Pass for PC, although it’s hard to say whether all versions will unlock simultaneously
On the Epic Games Store, its pre-release discount is set to end one hour later than its approximated Steam launch, at 9 AM PT/12 PM ET/5 PM BST.
Regardless of the platform you choose to play it on, you’ll probably want to be around tomorrow afternoon if you plan on starting your first Humankind match as soon as its unlock time comes by.
In our review, we found that while “not all of its features are as fleshed out as they could be, Humankind does hit several sweet spots, both in terms of combat and management, having enough going on to push you to click that next turn button.”
