As much as Imperator: Rome offers many other things aside from combat, you’ll inevitably find yourself having to resort to war if you want to expand your territory. After dealing with those troublesome neighbors, your gaze might fall upon more distant lands. Between establishing a foothold in a different area of the world and the riches other areas might have, you’ll most likely find yourself thinking about staging a Imperator: Rome naval invasion.
Here’s all you need to know about how to pull off Imperator: Rome naval invasions.
Imperator: Rome Naval Invasion</center>
Preparing a Imperator: Rome naval invasion is the only way to cross bodies of water when looking to conquer new lands. As common sense would dictate, you're going to need ships for your troops to embark on.
Imperator: Rome has a single type of ship, the Trireme, which can be built in port towns supplied with the Wood resource. Each Trireme in a fleet can house one cohort, which means that in order to move your whole army in one go, you'll have to build a fleet of Triremes equal to the number of Cohorts in your army. Should you not have the resources for that, you can split your army into two smaller ones, although that will also warrant two trips.
Once your units are prepared for a Imperator: Rome naval invasion, you'll want to look towards embarking them. In order to do that, you'll want to move your land units in a city on the coast. Your fleet should also be in the sea province adjacent to the city in question. Then, simply select your land units and right click on the ship. Once aboard, move them over to the destination, select them again and right click on the foreign patch of land you want them do disembark on.
Imperator: Rome also allows you to automate the process through a small button on the upper right side of the unit interface. Select a fleet, click on it and you'll see several options. One of them will let you dedicate the fleet to automatically aiding troops looking for coastal landings. With the option selected, all you need to do is select a land unit, click on a faraway patch of land and, as long as it's large enough, your fleet will automatically do the rest.
