Is Cyberpunk 2077 going to support cross-progression on Switch 2? CD Projekt Red has revealed during the most recent Nintendo Direct showcase that its Action Adventure sci-fi RPG Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be released for the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5th. If you’ve been playing it on PC or other consoles, you might be wondering if you can use cross-progression on the Switch 2 and continue your primary campaign while on the move.
Cyberpunk 2077 was first released for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in December 2020. It had a lot of technical problems at launch, but we could certainly see the potential, and eventually, once CD Projekt Red had released patches to fix all the issues, it was released on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in February 2022. Finally, it will come to the Switch 2 platform on June 5th, as a launch title, but read on to find out what we know about cross-progression for easy campaign swapping.

Yes, CD Projekt Red has confirmed on our favourite social media platform, BlueSky, that Cyberpunk 2077 will feature cross-progression when it launches on the Switch 2 on June 5th.
- Yes, Cross-progression will be supported on Switch 2
“Yes, the Nintendo Switch 2 version will be fully cross-progression compatible with versions from other platforms.”
“We’re still improving the performance, but we’re targeting 1080p docked and 720p in handheld mode, with 30-40 FPS. Depending on the mode, of course (performance vs quality).”
It’s a very welcome feature that was present with The Witcher 3 on Switch. You could easily transfer your saves from other consoles or PCs and continue your campaign on the handheld device on the move. Perfect if you’re having to spend the weekend with your family or going abroad and need something to play on the plane or while commuting via train.
Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2 will feature all of the game’s DLC on a physical 64GB game card. It will be priced at $69.99 / €69.99 when it launches on June 5th. No download will be required!
