It's hardly a secret that Medieval Engineers has a rather interesting combat aspect to it as well, rather than being a simple building simulator. Having said that, few people fought for the sake of fighting so far. After all, the main focus of the game has always been in the title itself.
It cannot be argued, however, against the fact that close quarters combat itself has never been particularly engaging in Medieval Engineers. Update 0.6.4 aims to fix this.
The most important change will be the addition of a subtle lock-on system, which, combined with the newly introduced directional attacks and a defensive posture, allow for a more graceful and tactical melee. Of course, this has also been bolstered with a slew of new animations and sounds, as well as a layer of additional polish, to really make fighting pop.
Developers have also taken some time to rebalance the game's resource selection, and they've added a number of research-related QoL improvements, such as additional indicators and UI clues to help you manage your inventory better.
If this got you interested in giving Medieval Engineers a try, you can find the game at a 10% off via Voidu, which rounds it up at €17.09.
