Publisher MicroProse today announced that it has entered a partnership with developer Sarnayer and will handle publishing duties for upcoming real-time strategy game Dying Breed.
An homage to the RTS games of the ’90s, Dying Breed looks like Red Alert but is set in a post-apocalyptic world and boasts a considerably larger number of zombies and strange creatures that are all too eager to treat your units as breakfast.
There are shiny minerals to collect, live-action FMVs to watch, as well as a ’90s electro-metal soundtrack that accompanies us as we control scores of units, sending them to either victory or doom.
Aside from ground troops, we’ll be able to launch amphibious and air assaults, as well as use buildings and caves when stealth and cunning better suit our plans.
Judging by its trailer, the title promises a veritable nostalgia trip that, although relying on familiar elements, breaks away from tradition thanks to its setting.
There’s no word on when Dying Breed might launch, but we can keep track of it by following and wishlisting it on Steam.
