Despite the E3 team insisting that plenty of big publishers would be attending the return of the gaming expo this summer, the news has hit that Microsoft will not be showcasing the Xbox platform on the show floor.
Microsoft has responded to inquiries from IGN, confirming that its Xbox Showcase scheduled for June 11 will be a part of E3 Digital. However, Microsoft will not have a presence on the show floor. It is worth noting that both Nintendo and Sony have previously announced that they will not be attending the event in any capacity.
Xbox won't be on the show floor at E3 2023
All three console makers are absent from much of E3’s planning. Details on what publishers exactly are attending are still pretty hazy, with Ubisoft the only significant name declaring interest in participating so far.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer has expressed his desire for a successful and healthy E3 following the pandemic and controversial leaks of press details, which have damaged the long-running event’s reputation in the industry.
We’re now less than three months away from E3 kicking off, so it won’t be long until we know just which studios and publishers will be present in Los Angeles for the event.
