Halo: MCC is well on its way to Steam, with all of the Halo classics packed in tow and ready for playing, but it won't be coming just yet. If you, too, are yearning for something of the type to amuse yourself in the meantime, feel free to add the original Halo: Combat Evolved to your queue.
A modder's just made the first Halo: Combat Evolved look like a game trailer through the use of ReShade. If you've been skeptical about the possible uses of this handy little post-processing injection machine, we've got a lovely morsel to share. Here's possibly the best Halo: CE ReShade out there.
Do keep in mind, of course, that the screenshots hardly do this project justice, as the modder responsible for bolstering the game's visuals this dramatically used various post-processing injectors that looks far better in motion - be sure to check out the video at the bottom of this article!
The goal was to make Halo: CE look like a contemporary trailer for your garden-variety first-person shooter, so the majority of tweaks concerned colour vibrancy, anti-aliasing, depth of field, and HUD removal. All of this combined made for a game that looks quite good for something that's almost 20 years old.
While not quite as good as an entirely new Halo game on PC, this may very well satiate your thirst for a little while - it sure has piqued our interest!
