Mordhau is a pretty layered game, offering a very wide variety of interesting weapons and combat styles to allow for pretty deep customisation of each player’s preferred loadout. Can you throw weapons, though?
Throwing weapons in Mordhau don’t come as a dedicated type of armament, but the functionalty is instead implemented as a special feature of certain arms. While this does mean that not every weapon can be thrown, it also allows for an easier task of balancing. Read on for more details!
How to Throw Weapons in Mordhau?</h2>
Certain weapons in Mordhau have a so-called 'alternate-grip' function assigned to them. The way this works is that it allows you to alternate between different ranges and utilities that each weapon type provides you with. For example, the Greatsword/Zweihänder weapons can switch between normal and half-sword grip, while the Longsword/Estoc players can opt for a Mordhau grip, as well as the standard style of combat. In some cases, however, weapons do not have an alt-grip, and the functionality instead allows you to throw your weapon at an unsuspecting enemy!
The majority of one-handed armaments, such as shortswords, daggers, and the like cannot adopt an alt-grip, and hitting the assigned key ('R' by default) will instead allow you to lob the weapon around, affording you range at the cost of, well, temporarily losing your weapon. While tricky to pull off properly, this does allow substantial flexibility in combat, and shouldn't be readily dismissed.
If you've been having troubles with retaining your XP and Gold after matches, you'll be happy to know that the devs are well-aware of the issue, and are working to have it resolved soon.
