Mortal Kombat 1 Story
Story-wise, Mortal Kombat 1 will reboot the series, focusing on “a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe that has been created by the Fire God Liu Kang.” In it, we’ll find “reimagined versions of iconic characters as they’ve never been seen before.”
That being said, conflict still seems to be very much present, and we’ll get to explore it in the Story mode, which brings “a brand-new cinematic narrative featuring unexpected twists on classic rivalries and original backstories for the wide-ranging cast of legendary fighters.”
Mortal Kombat 1 Gameplay
Mortal Kombat 1’s reveal didn’t feature any actual gameplay but, judging by the tone of its trailer, it’s bound to feature plenty of fighting that ends with lots of gore being shown on our screens.
We know there’ll be a Story Mode alongside various other online and offline modes. Its roster of characters features plenty of iconic figures like Liu Kang, Scorpion, or Sub-Zero.
The publisher promises “a new fighting system, game modes, bone krushing finishing moves, and more.”
It has also confirmed the presence of Kameo Fighters as “a unique roster of partner characters to assist during matches, creating expanded gameplay possibilities for players.”
According to a FAQ article, Kameo Fighters act as separate choices from the main roster of fighters, so it will be interesting to see how they spice up matches. Rollback netcode has also been confirmed.
