There are 3 factions for players to choose from in New World; the Marauders, the Covenant, and the Syndicate. Each of these offer missions and rewards but the main differences come down to cosmetics and who you want to fight as in PvP.
These rewards are locked behind tokens earned for missions and your faction rank. Each rank gives access to higher level gear you can access by gaining enough reputation to unlock advancement missions. If you’re a Marauder, the first of these is the Trial of the Gladiator.
New World Trial of the Gladiator Quest
The first thing to note about the Trial of the Gladiator is that the level requirement is required, not a suggestion. For this reason, you will be unable to properly begin the mission before reaching level 24.
Once you have the required level and faction reputation though, you can head over to Cutlass Keys to speak to your faction representative. Don’t worry about being in a higher-level area as he will give you the mission to defeat Lost Pirate Hamidou in the Nautilus of Nunez shipwreck.
This location is found in the bottom left corner of Monarch’s Bluff and is only a short journey from Cutlass Keys Village if you take the north exit to enter the Monarch’s Bluff area.
The challenge itself is quite easy, although as always you can find yourself swarmed by enemies. Hamidou himself is also an explosive boss so make sure to keep moving when you can. After he has been killed, return to Ravager Silas (your representative) in Cutlass Keys to complete the mission and gain the rank of Gladiator.
