Nubs!, the upcoming PvP action brawler co-developed by Rangatang – a studio comprised of ex-Awesomenauts developers – and Glowfish Interactive has just received a Q2 2025 release window.
The news was revealed during a new trailer that was part of today’s Mix Fall 2024 showcase and which gave us a better look at the title’s colorful mayhem.
Nubs! Release Window
In Nubs!, you join at least four other players in a competition to collect stars and impress the rather imposing Konzumos the Unentertained.
Doing so involves a fair bit of strategizing, as you collect, combine, and buff various power-ups that determine your playstyle.
Whether you opt to smack your enemies with a deadly (and potentially stinky) fish from up close or prefer using the likes of a burny-stick to eliminate them from afar, the weaponry you get to use not only helps you gain the upper hand during matches but contributes to the game’s comedic tone.
You’ll also be able to dress your Nub as a chicken, panda, pirate, and various other costumes, some of which were showcased in the title’s latest trailer.
There, you can also get a glimpse of two of the maps available at launch – Flaming Fiesta and Funky Frogwood – which will be accompanied by several others.
Alongside the release window announcement, we also learned that a Nubs! beta test is on the way and slated to take place on December 14 and December 15.
Members of the game’s official Discord server will be notified when testing begins.
The latest trailer for Nubs! definitely has elements that remind of Awesomenauts, from its colorful art style to the chaotic on-screen action but, as far as gameplay goes, it is decidedly heading in a different direction than the 2D MOBA.
Give it a look for yourself below and, if you fancy what you see, follow and wishlist the game on Steam.
