Budget gaming is in an interesting space right now. With so many of the world’s greatest graphics cards being bought en masse, it makes sense to go a little cheaper until this all levels out. This means there is a real reason why so many are entering into that market. With the GTA 1630, Nvidia is doing just that. Here’s what we know about it so far.
Leaked over on Videocardz, we now know what the specs of the next card are and what that means for the future of Nvidia. There’s technically a chance it could change between now and production but it seems reputable as of right now. It is a card based on the general architecture of the GTX 1650 but with a few noticeable cutbacks.
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1630 Specs Revealed
It is set to ship with 512 CUDA cores (more than 300 less than the 1650) and a 64-bit memory bus. Across the board, it is a bit lower than the GTX 1650 but is likely trying to hit a price point under it. Nvidia are trying to carve out space at the top and bottom of the PC market, letting you have a wide range of hardware straight from their site. It’s a plan that makes a lot of sense if implemented well.
Due to a worldwide chip shortage, many graphics card companies are figuring out new routes in the market and reevaluating how they act. It seems like that shortage is finally starting to come to an end and Nvidia are looking to launch back in at full force. Giving players the chance to get in the low end is a great move that could help secure future buyers.
We don’t know a price yet and we’re expecting much more details about the card over the next few weeks. As soon as we know, we will update you right here.
New Launch Date
Although originally reported to release on May 15th, we now know that the Nvidia GTX 1630 is releasing on June 15th. It was pushed back to this date, possibly due to production issues or something else. If anything else comes in, we will update you right here.
