Overwatch seasons provide a clean slate for its competitively-minded players, letting them prove their skills by climbing the ladder once more and chasing new rewards. Since new ones often start early in the new year, players are likely wondering about the Overwatch Season 26 release date and end dates.
The good news is that Overwatch Season 26 has already started, its release date being slated for Thursday, January 7. Like in the case of its peers, you’ll have to go through a new set of placement matches which help determine the rank at which you’ll start over.
After that, it’s a back to the daily grind of climbing the ladder until everything comes to a close. Overwatch Season 26’s end date will arrive sooner than in the case of it past ones from recent memory.
2020’s seasons have lasted for either nine or ten weeks. Season 26 will, instead, only stick around for eight weeks. This should still give you enough time to play quite a few matches until the end date of March 4 comes around.
While new seasons continue to provide players with something to do until Overwatch 2 releases, Blizzard has remained tight-lipped about when that might happen. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that it won’t take too long.
