Return to Castle Wolfenstein is getting modernized this October when the RealRTCW mod is set to launch on Steam.
One of the most fondly remembered first-person shooters, Return to Castle Wolfenstein has begun showing its age almost two decades after its release, the RealRTCW mod aiming to address this and much more.
Based on the ioRTCW engine, the mod will feature both x64 and widescreen support alongside an improved sound quality.
RealRTCW Mod Releases on Steam in October
High-quality textures and models will also be introduced alongside new recoil and difficulty systems. Rebalanced AI and weapons, atmospheric effects support and a new HUD and UI are also on the way.
Speaking of weapons, the RealRTCW mod will expand the arsenal that players can use to take down Return to Castle Wolfenstein’s occult-loving Nazis and their creations with the following weapons:
- MP34
- M1 Garand
- BAR
- MP44
- MG42
- G43
- M97 Trench Gun
- Revolver
- MG34
- PPSH41
- Mosin Nagant
- TT33
