A recent job posting by Finnish developer Remedy Entertainment could suggest that a Control sequel is on the way.
The developer is currently looking for a Senior Producer “for a key role working on [its] Control franchise” who will “support a group of experts at Remedy in the creation of our next projects”.
While the job posting could be related to Awe, Control’s second expansion, the importance of the role and Remedy having an unannounced project based on one of it IPs in the pipeline might just mean that work has already started on a sequel to last year’s acclaimed third-person action-adventure game.
Remedy Job Posting Could Hint at Control Sequel
Aside from being well received by critics, developer Remedy Entertainment has revealed that the title’s “post-launch sales have settled on a good level”.
It also considers to have “succeeded in creating a new game brand and a game that stands out” with Control.
Digital Bros, publisher 505 Games parent company, has also reported that Control performed well, contributing to a significant increase in its revenue.
Although there’s no official word on it – which isn’t surprising as DLC for the original game is still in the works –, the signs above could very well point to a Control sequel being the fourth, unannounced project that Remedy is currently working on.
Control is out now on PC, via the Epic Games Store, Xbox One and PS4.
