Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars strategy game is rumored to receive a trailer and announcement this April.
First mentioned in 2022, when publisher Electronic Arts confirmed its existence alongside two other Star Wars titles in development, the strategy game is being worked on by Greg Foerstch’s studio Bit Reactor, while Respawn Entertainment handles production duties.
Respawn’s Star Wars Strategy Game Reveal in April?
The trailer and announcement rumor comes from X (formerly Twitter) user bogorad222, who claims that we’ll learn more about the game during this year’s Star Wars Celebration in Japan, which is scheduled to take place between April 18 and April 20.
Interestingly enough, they describe the game as an RTS (real-time strategy), a detail that hasn’t been included in past official communications.
Furthermore, the title is supposedly aiming to launch on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox, but the final platform lineup has not been decided yet.
Although bogorad222 doesn’t appear to frequently leak information on upcoming games, they have built up a reputation by editing video game content on Wikipedia, particularly focusing on older projects.
As with any rumor, it’s worth taking this with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, hearing more about Respawn’s Star Wars strategy game later this year would make 2025, which already promises so much excitement in terms of major releases, even more interesting.
As for it potentially being a real-time strategy game, I know at least a couple of Empire at War and Galactic Battlegrounds fans who are patiently waiting for something to scratch that itch.
Although April and the rumored Respawn Star Wars strategy game trailer aren’t too far away, Steam’s RTS fest kicked off this week with demos and discounts for games in the genre.
Some of the participating titles that have caught our eye include Tempest Rising with its modern take on CnC, Idun, Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition, as well as Kriegsfront Tactics.
