Risk of Rain 2 has just received its very first Early Access content update - Risk of Rain 2 Update 1, and though it's not particularly stuffed with content, it fixes a whole slew of problems in one fell swoop.
Risk of Rain 2 Early Access Update 1 is designed specifically to address critical bugs and issues that the game's seen in its first-week post-release, as well as a few minor balancing changes. You'll find a compact list of key fixes down below.
Risk of Rain 2 Update 1 Patch Notes
Gameplay Changes
- added friends-only leaderboards to Prismatic Trials
- rebalanced MUL-T (reduced base movement speed, reduced base damage, etc)
- rebalanced Imp Overlord (removed passive HP regen, increased base damage)
- made the Teleporter easier to see
Bug Fixes
- corrupted save files no longer prevent the game from initializing past the first splash screen. We will continue to figure out why exactly they are being corrupted in the first place
- refactor Multiplayer connection setup to be more stable - hopefully less weird half-states on connecting to other players
- Engineering Perfection challenge can no longer be completed by starting 30 levels without finishing them.
- holding the Primary Skill Button down while activating Ocular HUD and shooting with Mul-T Auto-Nailgun no longer deals infinite critical damage
For a more exhaustive list of changes and fixes, you can go to Risk of Rain 2's update blog on Steam and go through the alterations there, but the gist of it is contained above. MUL-T's nerfs come with a buff to his "sprint" speed, and with the developers noting that they're not very keen on nerfing characters in general.
