Shadow of the Tomb Raider received a substantial 34% discount seven days ago, and this has somehow prompted a slew of bad reviews followed by even worse commentary due to the fact that developers and publishers have dared do this.
According to Reddit user predator8137, who has been helpful enough to translate the reviews in question from Chinese, he felt obligated to tone down some of the language used in those reviews: "Go fuck yourself SE, 43% off in one month. These Japanese developers should die. Ugly business practice."
It's hard to imagine what the original review was like if telling developers to go die is what constitutes a 'toned-down' version. In any case, this is just the latest entry in a long line of review-bombing, and the trend has shown no signs of slowing down. With Valve either unwilling or unable to do anything about it, and with these proud "gamers" clearly incapable of civil discourse, one has to wonder what the next escalation of this will be.
At the time of writing this article, there's still another hour and a half to go before the deal is up, so you can still make use of the 34% discount on Steam. That'll slash the price of Shadow of the Tomb Raider all the way down to €39,59, which is pretty decent, if we might say so. That said, according to our review, the game is great even at full price!
