Silent Night is just the latest in the long-lasting Crown franchise of ghost-hunting adventure games, but it is the first in the series to be presented in full 3D, with active player involvement, free movement, and more.
Developed by Darkling Room and published by Iceberg Interactive, Silent Night is a more festive tale than one might first think it to be. As its name might suggest, Silent Night will have players try and figure out how to help the undead roaming about the aptly-named Carrion Woods on Christmas Eve.
Silent Night will feature a painstakingly crafted version of the Northfield Church, which players will be able to explore inside and out to their heart's content. In an effort to make the locale authentic, developers have based the game's map on Duloe Church, not far from Cornwall, UK, which is an interesting tidbit of info.
According to the devs, the protagonist will find himself trapped in a vicious cycle, not unlike the one that the local spirits are trapped in, and in order to break free and get away, he will have to make a terrible decision of some sort.
Silent Night is currently slated for release sometime in the Winter of 2018, and even though there's no precise date in sight, we're reasonably sure that we can surmise when that might be...
