Fans of strategy-based sci-fi have something to look forward to as Realmforge, the developers behind M.U.D.TV and the Dungeons series, have just announced Spacebase Startopia, a new take on intergalactic management sims.
Taking place on an extraterrestrial space station, Spacebase Startopia will offer three unique deck types to manage as the player must deal with hostile invaders and dwindling resources (not to mention Val, the station’s sarcastic AI).
While the single-player campaign promises a challenging journey towards becoming a bustling trading center and interstellar tourist destination, the game will also boast both cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes.
The numerous alien races and automated droid workers look like a lot of fun, and the colorful designs are quite amusing when compared to the usually dark and drab genre of space simulators.
Spacebase Startopia will see release in the second half of 2020, but you can check out the cinematic trailer below.
