Publisher and developer Solid Clouds has announced that sci-fi MMORTS Starborne is set to enter open beta today.
In-development for five years and having gone through nine alpha tests, Starborne implements a number of changes based on player feedback in its open beta, aiming for a better overall experience with its lengthy games.
Starborne Open Beta
The Starborne open beta introduces a new handcrafted map that supports safer starting zones and areas with higher resource yields, which aim to encourage expansion and make for more dynamic gameplay.
Players can now target three victory conditions: military conquest involving taking down opponents in battle, industrial superiority gained by building a mega-structure, or domain, which involves controlling the most amount of space.
The Starborne open beta also features an overhauled UI, an extended soundtrack featuring “hundreds of hours of ambient soundscapes”, an in-game tutorial and a reduced alliance size.
Anyone interested in giving Starborne a go during its open beta phase can do so via the game’s website.
