Surviving The Aftermath is out now on early access, as was revealed at PDXCON on October 19. However, it seems to only be on the Epic Games Store. Is there a Surviving The Aftermath Steam version?
Despite not really having an early access side, Surviving Mars semi-sequel Surviving The Aftermath seems to be an Epic store exclusive. Will it ever come to Steam? What is the Surviving The Aftermath Steam release date? Let's have a look.
Is there a Surviving The Aftermath Steam release or is it an Epic exclusive?
As announced in the game's initial reveal, the rather bizarre fact about Surviving The Aftermath is that it's launching in early access - which isn't that unusual, except that it's doing so on the Epic Games Store. Epic does not have a system for early access titles the way that Steam does - complete with updates, reviews, progress, details specifically on the Early Access version, and simply making it clear that the game is in Early Access.
So the important question is then, is Surviving The Aftermath an Epic Games Store exclusive? Sort of. It's also on Xbox One (not PS4), but only PC Surviving The Aftermath Early Access is an Epic exclusive - but only while it's in early access. When the game finally releases, it will come out on Steam and other storefronts. Surviving The Aftermath 1.0 final release will be on Steam. But when exactly will that be?
What is the Surviving The Aftermath Steam release date?
At the moment, Surviving The Aftermath is due to stay in early access - so exclusive to the Epic Games Store - for a year. The Surviving Mars sequel will launch out of early access and on to Steam in late 2020. That admittedly could slip if publisher Paradox and developer IceFlake feel it needs more time, but for now we predict that Surviving The Aftermath will launch on Steam around October 2020 - so a year exclusive to Epic, much like many other games exclusive to the Epic Games Store. We'll have to wait and see, however.
