Taito has announced the development of a new game in the Puzzle Bobble series, also known as Bust a Move in American and European territories. Puzzle Bobble is a spin-off from Bubble Bobble, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year.
The first-ever Puzzle Bobble game was released in 1994, and there have been countless variations of the formula ever since. The latest Puzzle Bobble game was Puzzle Bobble: 3D Vacation Odyssey, which came to the PS4 and PS5 in VR.
This newly revealed Puzzle Bobble game hasn’t been named yet, but it will be horizontal and marks the return of characters Bob, Peb, and Pab. You will be able to play alone, or with friends and family using real-time attacks.
Since development has only recently started, Taito isn’t ready to commit to a release date just yet.
As seen in the screenshot above, it seems to suggest that there will be a 4 player mode coming, and then in the short video teaser that Taito released, there was a subtle hint at it again. Check it out below:
We’ll be sure to keep you posted on any new details that emerge about this new Puzzle Bobble game, which will likely be in the new year.
