Fallout London, the massive Fallout 4 total conversion mod that’s faced several current-gen-upgrade-related delays, is finally out in the wild. Team FOLON has created a huge overhaul of the base game that takes place entirely outside the United States, the typical setting of the post-apocalyptic RPG franchise. It’s great stuff, but can we make it even better with extra mods?
After you’ve gone through the official installation instructions (we highly recommend the GOG option) and spent some time with Fallout London, chances are you might want some extra tweaks and polish, much like in the original game. While the Fallout London modding scene is still in its early days, we’ve jumped into Nexus Mods and found the most interesting and useful mods you can download and use right now. If you’re curious, scroll down below to find our current favorite picks.
Our picks of The Best Fallout London Mods

- Less Washed Out Flashlight
- DXVK For Fallout London (Vulkan Wrapper)
- Slightly Better Stimpaks
- London Fog and Mist Remover
- Original Fallout 4 Font
No-Intro (Skip Startup – Splash Videos) by Gametism
A simple mod that does what it says on the cover: Letting players jump faster into the game, bypassing the startup and introduction videos. Installation is fairly simple too, as you’ll just need to drop and replace folder and files in the game’s root folder by simply extracting the .zip archive.
Less Washed Out Flashlight by Detra
Modder detra wasn’t happy with how washed-out the image was when turning on the flashlight, so they made this handy little mod that removes “some records” from the flashlight entry in the mod, making the world a bit more atmospheric once again. It also comes with additional colors/tones which can be chosen from the FOMOD. That said, it appears the best option if you’re playing third person is either going vanilla or with the flat white setting.
DXVK For Fallout London (Vulkan Wrapper) by WhoCaresomg74
The Vulkan graphics and compute API has quickly become a favorite among PC gaming enthusiasts and many developers, yet it’s lacked the level of mainstream adoption we were hoping for. Of course, Fallout 4 – and thus Fallout London – doesn’t have Vulkan support, yet this wrapper for D3D11 should do the trick. Typically, lower-end CPUs and GPUs should benefit from this, while higher-end machines won’t gain a lot. We believe it’s worth a try if your performance isn’t where you want it to be, as it’s a surprisingly robust API in many other games.
Slightly Better Stimpaks by WitherAwayyy
Another small tweak you might be interested in, especially if you’ve been finding fights a bit too difficult, but don’t want to lower the entire difficulty, is the one added by this little mod. Even in the vanilla Fallout 4 game, stimpaks can be too weak until you get the right skills, which can be a pain in the back, as they’re the player’s main source of healing. Healing has been increased from 6 HP over 5 seconds to 10 HP, which should add up and make them more reliable without breaking the balance.
London Fog and Mist Remover by GoArray
A good companion mod to the flashlight one we’re recommending is London Fog and Mist Remover, which frees interiors of random fog, severely tones down mist, and hits weather fog “further away,” according to modder GoArray. Mind you, London is quite famous for how foggy and misty it can be, and we’ll admit it adds to the moody post-apocalypse presented in Fallout London, but some players may think it’s overdone, so this mod should clear the weather up for them. Pay special attention to the instructions on this one.
Original Fallout 4 Font by mattdalpe
Maybe you love Fallout London, but aren’t a big fan of the new font used for menus and other interface elements. This quick tweak restores the original Fallout 4 font if you’d rather go traditional despite the massive change of location. It’s that simple!
