MW5: Mercs Reloaded
The MW5: Mercs Reloaded mod adds deeper customization possibilities to the mechlab through equipment like engines, armor, endosteel structure, upgrade modules for arms and legs, alongside much more. Mechs are no longer limited by the size of their hardpoints while most of them have received extra hardpoints. MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries’ enemy roster has also been expanded with 170 custom Mechs built using the mechlab enhancements introduced by the mod. Grab it from the Epic Games Store.
TTRulez_LanceMateAIMod
TTRulez_LanceMateAIMod targets MechWarrior 5’s AI, adding role-specific behaviors. You can assign roles manually, to best decide what each type of Mech does or rely on the default behaviors that now mirror those of the tabletop. Find it on the Epic Games Store.
3D HUD
MechWarrior 5’s 3D HUD is an overhaul on a small scale that introduces a new layout for your heads-up display “based on visual positioning, coloring, and flashing hints”. Weapons appear on the HUD depending on where they’re equipped and update using color-coding that makes it easier to read what’s happening with your arsenal. The mod also lets you change your HUD’s color and use advanced zoom as a sniping tool. Get it from the Epic Games Store.
Mechcommander: Mercenaries
If you ever want a break from the third-person action of MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, the Mechcommander: Mercenaries mod has got you covered. What it does is turn the game into an RTS. You’ve your isometric camera, you can select units, order them around, assign them to command groups as you would in a usual real-time strategy game. Try it out on the Epic Games Store.
TTRulez_EnemyAIMod
Like its counterpart above, the TTRulez_EnemyAIMod adds new behaviors, although, this time it targets enemy AI. As you make your way through missions, you should see the opposing AI stick more closely to behaviors fitting their role while also using jumpjets. Get it from the Epic Games Store.
MercTech
MercTech is an overhaul mod that uses rules taken from the sourcebooks to alter the base MechWarrior 5 experience. It adds an Ironman Mode that limits you to 1 autosave and 1 save, while making 3 critical hits to the engine disable your Mech. On top of that, its Ironman mode also requires you to properly balance the weight of your Mech’s arms, legs and torso, lest you incur penalties. It also introduces ammo swapping for different weapons alongside the ability to select fire modes for Ultra and Rotary Autocannons. Get it from the Epic Games Store.
