Surviving the Aftermath has now left early access, which means that players who take on the role of post-apocalyptic colony builders have to deal with the full brunt of its ravaged world. Challenge is part of the game’s DNA but, if you’re looking for an easier start or a more relaxed playthrough, some of its mods can certainly come in handy.
Surviving the Aftermath’s mods first popped up during its stay in early access. The game’s disasters can quickly make you run out of resources and losing half of your colonists in the blink of an eye due to a shortage of food, water, or medicine can deal a blow to both your and the survivors’ morale.
Survivint the Aftermath Mods
If you find yourself encountering resource shortages a little too often, ellacharmed’s Resource Factory mod adds a building that practically creates them out of thin air.
The structure does share the same mesh as the Fish Factory, but different logos make it possible to differentiate between them without too much effort. You can also set production limits or stop production altogether, which is a neat addition if you only want a bit of help when things get particularly rough.
The Hexagon Building Pack is yet another useful Surviving the Aftermath mod that increases the number of available buildings you can construct in your colony. Additions include the Sandbag Bunker, which is great for defense, a Fallout Shelter, Meal Storage, and new house types.
Windfall then adds a more immersive way of obtaining some goodies for your colony by introducing a recurring event with the same name. When successfully completed, it grants resources, survivors, seeds or insect eggs, science points, and currency to use when trading. Negative outcomes can make you lose some resource and injure some of your colonists.
Our list of Surviving the Aftermath mods continues with Debug Mode, which enables access to a series of buttons that let you spawn colonists, specialists, resources, and more.
A handful of others can be found over on Paradox Mods, although the majority haven’t been updated in a while, so your mileage may vary.
These Surviving the Aftermath mods can certainly help you get over the game’s tougher obstacles while making post-apocalyptic life a bit more exciting.
Surviving the Aftermath is out now on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
