Will The Cycle: Frontier be arriving on consoles anytime soon? YAGERs first-person survival shooter pits players against each other in a fight for survival in a hostile alien environment. The game which initially launched in 2020 is free to play on Steam and Epic Games Store. As it stands it maintains a pretty steady player count but hasn’t quite enjoyed the high amount of concurrent players it attracted at launch.
It seems like a logical move to release a console version of the game to build up some traction and get some eyes on it again. YAGER have previously addressed plans for a console version of the game and it certainly seems like it’s on the horizon, but don’t expect it anytime soon. Here’s everything we know about whether The Cycle: Frontier is coming to consoles.
Is The Cycle: Frontier coming to PS5 or Xbox
There are supposedly plans to release a console version of The Cycle: Frontier after the conclusion of the game’s current Season 3: Breakthrough. Bear in mind though that doesn’t necessarily mean that the game will be coming to consoles with the next season, although it does suggest that a console version of the game is in fact on the agenda.
YAGER is regularly updating the game with hotfixes and quality-of-life improvements to get it up to scratch with other competitive shooters. When the game first launched it was met with fairly lukewarm reviews, and while it does have a dedicated player base, it’s not even close to hitting the numbers of other shooters like Warzone and Fortnite.
The Cycle: Frontier very much appears to be a work in progress and as such, Steam and Epic Games Store may well be the ideal environment for the game to thrive in and work to realize its potential before arriving on a crowded console market. That’s everything we know about whether The Cycle: Frontier is coming to consoles.
