Publisher Bandai Namco today announced the release date for upcoming adventure games The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan.
The first entry in The Dark Pictures Anthology is set to launch on PC, Xbox One and PS4 come August 30.
Developed by Supermassive Games, of Until Dawn fame, The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan follows a group of five friends going on a holiday diving trip in the South Pacific.
Their search for a WWII wreck is interrupted by a storm, which sees the group trapped inside a ghost ship. Similar to Until Dawn, Man of Medan puts the player in charge of how the five characters deal with their situation, which eventually steps into horrific territory. The narrative adapts to each decision taken, the protagonists’ survival being by no means guaranteed.
Pre-orders for the title are now live, for those too eager to wait until The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan’s release date, guaranteeing day one access to the Curator’s Cut DLC. Unlocked after beating the game once, the DLC adds new decisions, scenes and secrets alongside a new perspective on the story, which includes different characters taking part in specific previously played scenes.
On PC, Man of Medan is available for pre-order on the publisher’s store, for the price of €29.99 or regional equivalent. Keys purchased there can be activated on Steam.
