The Outer Worlds is the exciting new epic space RPG from Obsidian, the creators of Fallout: New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - all massive games with huge worlds to explore. You'll almost certainly need to travel a lot in the developer's latest game, but is there The Outer Worlds Fast Travel? And how does it work?
It depends on how big the game is, of course - or how deep. If The Outer Worlds is as big as Fallout: New Vegas you'll certainly need it. If it does have the feature though, how does Fast Travel work in The Outer Worlds? Is it a simple matter of clicking on a map? When do you unlock it? Let's see!
Is there The Outer Worlds Fast Travel and how does it work?
While not as fully open-world as Fallout: New Vegas or other RPGs with a massive world to explore, the areas in The Outer Worlds are massive - and can take a fair few minutes to traverse if you're just walking. Fast Travel would be handy, certainly, especially when you're mopping up side-quests.
The good news is, then, that The Outer Worlds does indeed have Fast Travel - and it's really easy to work, too. It's unlocked a short while into the game, when you first find and liberate the Unreliable - your starship. Of course, Fast Travel is useless until you reach Edgewater town or some other place to actually travel to!
Once you have unlocked a few Fast Travel points, or you finally need to use it, open your map screen and select 'Region'. Across the map you'll see several blue compass points. These are your Fast Travel points - while they're not everywhere, they're in enough places to be useful. Simply select the place you want to go to and you'll warp right there. Easy!
