The Surge 2 is out now, and it's a terrifying Souls-like with a load of side quests for you to tackle between enemy encounters - and it won't hold your hand with any of them. There's not even really a map, and that makes some of the quests tough - such as The Surge 2 The Witness side mission.
The Witness is a quest you'll get shortly after beating the Little Johnny boss. Below you'll find how to find The Surge 2 Witness Hideout location, and where to find the AID Nightfall Gear you need to complete the quest.
The Surge 2 The Witness location and where to get the AID Nightfall Gear
Just after defeating Little Johnny (which probably took you a while) if you head back to Seaside Court in Jericho you'll get a message from a guy you met earlier in the police station - simply called "Stranger". He'll get in touch and ask for your help, but first you'll need to head to his hideout. But where is it?
You can check the pictures above, but do you remember an NPC near the river warming his hands at a burning trashcan? He's one of the few people in the general city not trying to kill you, so you probably will. Head there - there's a shortcut to the first MedBay here, so it should be easy - and drop down through the broken railing to the area by the river. There's one enemy here, so dispatch him first.
Beyond him is a door which you can only open with the EMP Starfish drone, which you should've got after killing Little Johnny. Go inside, and the stranger will task you with collecting an entire set of AID Gear - either the Nightfall, Eclipse or Twilight gear. There are two ways you can get this gear.
- From soldiers at the nearby security checkpoint. Cut various limbs off these guys to get AID Gear, and if you don't get it straight away just keep respawning them and coming back - aiming for the limbs you need.
- From Molly, the vendor in Seaside Court. You can get schematics for the AID Twilight Gear set from her, but of course you'll have to craft them first. If you don't have the resources, you'll have to hunt for it.

Once you've given the Stranger a completed Gear set, you'll be compensated for the missing armour and have 5000 Tech Scrap, along with the Stranger's Facemask item. Congratulations, you've completed The Witness quest! You'll meet this guy again later, when you get the Force Hook.
