Zack Snyder is gearing up for the festive release of his Netflix space opera Rebel Moon later this year by getting out there and chinwagging with folks on the internet. And during one such chinwag, he revealed that there would be an RPG based on the film coming in the near future.
Speaking on The Nerd Queens podcast, Snyder let slip the existence of the video game tie-in for his space epic, and boasted of it being ‘so immersive’, ‘so intense’, and ‘so huge’. He went on to enthuse about the scale of the project being ‘ridiculous’ before stating he wasn’t supposed to talk about it for the umpteenth time.
Netflix has already dipped its toes into gaming, with a growing library of mobile-centric titles currently offered as part of its film and TV streaming service. That’s included some pretty notable titles such as Half Mermaid’s phenomenal Immortality and the masterpiece that is Into the Breach. It has also commissioned games based on its properties before, including Stranger Things.
It sounds like it’s a bit further off than the film, so it won’t be part of a multimedia extravaganza when the Rebel Moon film releases on Netflix on December 22, 2023.
