Total War Saga: Troy - Amazons has been confirmed as the grand strategy game’s first DLC, set to bring a new faction into its Bronze Age conflict.
Although it’s still a bit away, the Total War Saga: Troy - Amazons DLC will be obtainable for free for Total War Access account holders. That, however, requires a bit of preparation ahead of time and keeping an eye on when exactly the DLC releases.

Before discussing details behind the Amazons DLC, you need to make sure that you own Total War Saga: Troy prior to attempting to redeem it. You can get the game for free on the Epic Games Store between August 13th 2pm BST and August 14th 2pm BST.
Total War Saga: Troy - Amazons DLC Release Date
As part of its 2020 roadmap, the Total War Saga: Troy - Amazons DLC’s release date was initially revealed to occur at some point in September.
Sega and Creative Assembly have since revealed that the Amazons DLC will become available starting with September 24 at 3 PM BST/7 AM PT. Players will have the chance of getting the DLC at no cost for two whole weeks, until October 8.
Total War Saga: Troy - Amazons DLC Characters
The Total War Saga: Troy - Amazons DLC will introduce the faction with the same name to the grand strategy title. Comprised entirely of warrior women, it fights to defend Troy while giving players a choice between two leaders with different playstyles.
Choosing to play as warrior queen Penthesilea will put you at the helm of a Horde army which you can use to conquer settlements that grant you War Spoils, and this will boost your campaign.
Hippolyta, the warrior queen’s sister, relies on capturing sacred regions that reward her with Amazon Treasures. You’ll be able to rank up your units, work towards improving diplomacy with other factions, and instantly complete Royal Decrees.
The Amazons also have access to mobile cavalry units and can use Blood Oaths to summon powerful Bloodsworn units.
How To Redeem the Amazons DLC for Free
Just like players have a chance to get Total War Saga: Troy for free, the Amazons DLC will also be obtainable at no cost at launch by anyone who has a Total War Access account set up. To do so, you need to follow the steps below.
- Log in to your Total War Access account here
- Click on My Account in the upper navigation bar
- Click on the Epic Connect logo and log in with your Epic account credentials
- Grant permission to connect Access to your Epic account
- “Account Connected” will be displayed in My Account screen
- When Amazons DLC is made available, follow instructions from the in-game menu to claim
You can link your accounts at any point before or during the period in which the Total War Saga: Troy - Amazons DLC will be free. Said period has been confirmed early on to last for 14 days.
When the Amazons DLC’s release date occurs, on September 24, you’ll be able to claim your code from the Total War Access Dashboard and redeem it on the Epic Games Store until November 5.
