Developer Traveller’s Tales is working on a new LEGO video game built using the Unreal Engine, recent job listings on the WB Games career site reveal.
The new LEGO video game will be based on a “major IP” and seems to place a greater emphasis on its online aspects.
Both the listings for game programmer and junior game programmer mention “fun networked content”, “fun networked enemy AI, Party AI, and Boss AI” alongside “fun networked game play”.
Traveller's Tales New LEGO Game Unreal Engine
Past Traveller’s Tales’ LEGO video games have largely focused on singleplayer and local co-op, LEGO Worlds being one of the few outliers that included online play.
The job listings don’t mention any timeframe for the project. Given the number of IPs in the developer’s catalog of LEGO games, it’s also difficult to say which one will be featured in the upcoming title.
In the meantime, the developer also has Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on the way, slated for a Q1 2021 release on PC, current-gen, and next-gen consoles.
