AurumDust has revealed the next entry in its turn-based Ash of Gods series is nearing release.
Ash of Gods: The Way is a story-led turn-based adventure that features card-based combat. It is seen as a fusion of The Banner Saga and Slay the Spire.
The game has the player take on the role of the foster son of a secret service agent as they embark on a journey deep into enemy territory. There he must learn the secrets of the enemy war plan in Tournament battles.
The developer promises Ash of Gods: The Way’s skirmishes will take place on battlefields of various sizes, and feature an ever-changing ruleset to keep players on their toes.
Outside combat, there are plenty of interactions with other movers and shakers in visual novel-style scenes that can shift the tide of war just as well as any battlefield scrap.
A prologue demo will arrive next month, so you can get a good taste of this intoxicating blend of styles. The game itself has no set release date, but can’t be too far off given the current ‘Early 2023’ window.
