Two Point Hospital is out now and it's fantastic. We'll have the full review up soon, but we wanted to highlight a very special character cameo - Sonic The Hedgehog!
Yes, SEGA's mascot makes a big appearance in Two Point Hospital, and even better, it's specifically a reference to retro throwback Sonic Mania. But where exactly is the Two Point Hospital Sonic Mania Easter Egg? Let us show you!
Two Point Hospital Sonic Mania Easter Egg - Where To Find It
Sonic The Hedgehog is hiding in Two Point Hospital, and it'll cost you 500 Kudosh to find him.
Kudosh is the game's second currency, which is essentially XP. It's not a Premium currency, it can't be bought with real money or anything, it can only be earned by completing missions in the game.
Once you have 500 Kudosh and nothing special to spend it on, pick up the Arcade Cabinet from scrolling down the Items menu. You can't miss it, it's got a big SEGA logo on the side. It entertains staff and public alike and staves off boredom, plus it fits into quite tiny areas so it's very useful. Place the Arcade Cabinet wherever you want - it can either go in the Staff Room or main corridors, we suggest near a Reception Desk or GP's Office.
Now zoom in, and you'll see that the game playing on the Arcade Cabinet is none other than Sonic Mania.
"But GameWatcher," we hear the Sonic fans saying, "that looks like the Flying Battery Zone level which was also in Sonic & Knuckles, how do you know it's the Sonic Mania version?" Quite simple really. When characters play the game, a variety of Sonic sounds play, including short music cues. One of those music cues is the Sonic Mania title screen.
